Personality Type & College FIND THE PERFECT COLLEGE FOR YOU helps high school students match their Personality Type & learning style with college campuses & college majors. Students or their parents start with answering questions in chapter three that point to the students likely Personlity Type. With this selected Type in mind, they can read an overview of that Type in High School. The tables at the back of the book are a quick way to start the college list. These tables identify colleges and list current college majors preferred by each of the Personality Types. Students and parents can then select a few of the colleges from the table and go directly to the write ups in chapter five to learn about the campus environment and the majors identified for their type at that college. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- In April, 2011 Ms Marie and Ms Law presented a session at the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling conference in Atlanta. Two case studies were reviewed on generating a college list using the lens of the MBTI* Personality Type and learning style. Counselors were appreciative of this new concept in college advising: "Thank you for presenting, I have been attending college advising conferences for 30 years and this is the first really new idea brought to the field in that time." - Independent College Consultant, Augusta, GA. Ms. Marie and Ms. Law presented a session at the Independent Educational Consultants Association in Cincinnati, November 2010. Independent counselors from across the nation attended this well received session. On November 17th, Ms Marie presented at the Alabama Counseling Associaton conference in Mobile. Her session focused on generating college lists using two powerful tools: Personality Type and Learning Style. Ms Law signed books at the College of Charleston Authors Book Signing during Parents Weekend on Oct 2, 2010. On May 8, 2010, Ms. Marie signed copies of the book in the Wilson Bookstore at the College of Wooster in Ohio. The community of parents and college staff attending graduation activities all agreed that the book is very interesting. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Ms Marie will be presenting at the Association for Psychological Type International in August at their 2011 biennial conference in San Francisco. Ms. Marie will be presenting a full day workshop in Birmingham, AL this coming fall, 2011. This workshop will offer educators and counselors the tools to start utilizing Personality Type in their college counseling. CEUs will be available.
